The art of Middle Eastern Dance, or bellydancing as most Americans refer to it, has been around for thousands of years. It was and still is a dance of celebration among cultures of the Middle East and North Africa. While a veil of inaccuracies myths and mystery surround it, bellydance has long been regarded as a wonderful translation of feminine expression. An exciting outlet for self-expression, it also is a superior enhancer of one’s flexibility, grace, and self-confidence.

As with any course where any physical effort is asserted, participants should have a clean bill of health from their personal physician before participating. Comfortable workout clothes, yoga gear or bellydance attire (coin or hip scarf to emphasize movements) is appropriate. Or dress like a true bellydancer with harem pants or a flowing skirt. Soft ballet shoes, low-soled sneakers or bare feet are fine.
